Menlo Park's
Youth Sports programs offer educational, instructional and developmental
sports opportunities for youth. Programs include girls' and boys'
basketball leagues, girls' volleyball, boys' pee-wee basketball
and boys' flag football. Instructional classes, clinics and/or
camps are also offered for soccer, baseball, volleyball, and basketball.
Low-cost field and gym rentals for the
public, schools and local organizations are coordinated through
the youth sports service area.
Hi-Five Little Ballers
Basketball classes for 3-5 year-old boys and girls will be held at the Arrillaga Family Gymnasium. 8-week sessions will be held in September, January and April. Using lower baskets and smaller balls, our experienced coaches will help each child get a feel for the ball, their teammates, and the game itself.
Hi-Five Hoops League
K-2nd Grade basketball league will be held once a week on Sundays beginning in January. Our experienced coaches will help each child learn how to properly develop the key fundamentals of the game - defense, dribbling, passing, and shooting. Teams are school based. Program includes a clinic, regular season, and playoffs.
Hot Shots
Class
Basketball classes are 4 or 6-week sessions held in the spring,
summer and fall. Classes meet once a week and teach the basic
skills of the sport through both drills and short games. Age
appropriate baskets and balls are used.
Arrillaga Youth Basketball League
This league is for boys and girls, 3rd through 7th grades and
operates daily from mid-January through the end of March. Games
are held once a week. Teams are school based with tryouts done
through the schools. Team entry fee required.
Hi-Five NFL Flag Football League
K-5th Grade flag football league will be held on Saturdays for 7 weeks (plus playoffs & Super Bowl) beginning in September. Each player will receive a pro replica jersey. Our experienced coaches will help each child develop the basic fundamentals while learning how to play the game in a safe environment.
Pee Wee
Football
This program operates for 8 weeks at the Onetta Harris Community
Center (Kelly Park) in the Fall. Games are played on Fridays.
Other weekdays are used for practices.
Girls Volleyball League
This league is for girls, 4th through
8th grade and operates weekly from mid-September through mid-November.
Games are held once a week at the Burgess Gymnasium. Teams are
school based with tryouts done through the schools. Team entry
fee required.
Soccer Classes
Classes are held weekly for boys and girls 2 ½ years
old through 12 years old. Classes operate throughout the year.
Age appropriate drills and skills are taught. Classes are taught
by Kidz Love Soccer staff.
Hi-Five Sports Camp
Multi-sport camps will be held for children in pre-k through 8th Grade at Burgess Park during spring and summer vacations. From 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday, the children will be split up into teams (separated by age groups) and compete in a wide variety of sports. Each team will be coached by experienced local athletes and coaches with a passion for youth sports.
Baseball
Camps
Camps are held in the summer for children ages 5 to 10 years
old. Basic skills are taught through repetitive drills and simulated
game situations. Menlo Atherton baseball coach Tim Bowler and
his staff teach the camps at the Burgess Park fields. Baseball
gloves are required.
Basketball
Camps
Camps are held in the summer for 5 to 10 year olds. Basic skills
are taught through repetitive drills with some game time each
day. Camps are taught by Tim Bowler and his staff. Location:
Arrillaga Family Gym. Tennis shoes required.
Volleyball
Camps
Camps are held in the summer for girls 9 to 12 years old. Basic
skills taught will be serving, setting and passing. Location: Arrillaga Family Gym.
