On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, the City Council will continue its discussion on the proposed General Plan and M-2 Area Update, also known as ConnectMenlo, and potentially take action on the project. The proposed plan is a long range planning document that establishes a vision for a live/work/play environment in the current M-2 zoned Area of the City, which is primarily the business parks and industrial area between Highway 101 and Bayfront Expressway. The plan for the M-2 Area incorporates up to 4,500 new residential units, 2.3 million square feet of new non-residential uses, and up to 400 new hotel rooms. The proposed zoning regulations support the live/work/play vision, and includes design standards, requires trip reduction for new construction of a certain size, and establishes green and sustainable building regulations. For more information on the project, please visit the website at www.menlopark.org/connectmenlo.
