Storyteller John Weaver

Thursday, May 4, 2017

Not a storytime, but a performance of tales from the oral tradition, especially for elementary schoolers on up!

Join the Menlo Park Library’s resident tale-spinner, Storyteller John Weaver, for a session of captivating, hilarious tales – all told without a book!

No registration is necessary for this event, which is intended for big kids (elementary school and up) along with their adults.

About storytelling
  • Storytelling is telling stories – without using a book
  • It's an ancient art form that predates libraries, books and writing
  • Traditional-style storytelling creates unique images in the mind of each listener

According to the National Storytelling Network, "storytelling is the interactive art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination. In storytelling, the listener imagines the story."

About John Weaver
