Stanford Health Library - You can also visit the Stanford Shopping Center (in front near Bloomingdales). Bring change for photocopying.
In the Library Computer Catalog Search by subject such as cancer, Alzheimer's, Lyme disease, etc. to get the call numbers for books. Note the book's date, as medical information will change.
Medical Reference Table
There is a medical reference table in the adult reference section. It contains useful books such as "The Merck Manual," "Current Medical Diagnosis," and others. The nearby copy machine costs 15 cents per page.
Check encyclopedias and other reference books in the regular adult reference section. Some suggestions:
R 613.0321 Ill "Marshall Cavendish Illustrated Encyclopedia of Family Health" (old, but has good pictures)
R 610.9 Cam "Cambridge World History of Human Disease" (for historical approach)
