If you would like to make a monetary donation, please contact the Menlo Park Library Foundation.

The library is happy to receive item donations to use for the library's benefit or distribute where needed.

What to Bring
  • Books (other than out-of-date textbooks, Readers Digest Condensed Books, and non-sellable items)
  • CDs (sorry, no records - 45s, LPs, or 78s)
  • Eyeglasses
  • Tax-deductible cash or bequest (visit the MPL Foundation website)
  • Videos / DVDs
  • Your time (see the Volunteering page)
Sorry, but magazines, computers, and other equipment can't be accepted - visit with the RecycleWorks website for reuse / recycle options.

How to Donate
  • When: 9 a.m. - Noon, every day except Sundays and Tuesdays.
  • Where: Staff entrance on Alma Street at the corner of Ravenswood Avenue.
  • How: Place donations on the book cart and take a gold-colored receipt. For pickup, multiple boxes, or donations at other times, contact the Friends of the Library at 650-330-2521.  Library staff are not allowed to help you unload your vehicle.
What Happens to the Donations
Books, movies, and music may be:
  • Added to the library collection
  • Sold online
  • Sold in the Friends Bookstore (open daily in the library's lobby)
  • Sold at FOL Book Fairs throughout the year, where there is an acre of items for sale at bargain prices
Old eyeglasses are given to the Lions Club.
