Special Events

More than providing residents with venues for fun, play and celebration, community events and concerts create opportunities for participants to become connected to their community. There are major events held throughout the year along with 8 Summer Concerts.

Cinemenlo
July - December 2014
Enjoy free family movies at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center and the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center. Movies run once a month and dates & times vary. Cinemenlo Movie Schedule  

Community Organized College & Career Fair
This annual fair takes place at Onetta Harris Community Center. This is a great opportunity for 6th through 12th graders to begin to think about their academic future beyond high school. This is a free event that is run by the community of Belle Haven. Please contact Bridget Matheson for more information.

Egg Hunt - Burgess ParkEaster eggs hidden in a park.
Saturday, April 4, 2015 - 10 a.m. to Noon
The Bunny visits Burgess Park with toys and candy filled eggs for girls and boys ages 8 and under. The festivities start at 10 a.m. with bounce houses, crafts, and pictures with the Bunny. Egg Hunt - Kelly Park
Saturday, April 4, 2015 - 10 a.m. to Noon
The annual Egg Hunt is here again and will be taking place at Kelly Park, which is behind the Onetta Harris Community Center. There will be crafts, a jelly bean guess, a magic show, and photo opportunities with the Bunny! Come join in on all the fun! 4th of July Parade & Celebration

Saturday, July 4, 2015 - 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This is the annual parade and celebration you have heard so much about. Decorate you bike, tricycle, wagon, golf cart, or float and parade with us down Santa Cruz Avenue from the parking lot on Chestnut Street at Santa Cruz Avenue (behind Wells Fargo bank) to Burgess Park. The Parade starts promptly at 11:45 a.m. on July 4th. Once at Burgess Park, you and your family will enjoy music, games, and food. Menlo Park is your small town oasis in the Bay Area! Wednesdays from June 17 through August 12 - 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Join us at Fremont Park to listen to some of the best local groups. The series features a variety of musical styles from Jazz to Country to hits of today and yesterday. Bring your picnic blanket and dinner, and of course there is always room up front for dancers of all ages. No concert on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015. Did you attend in 2014? Menlo Movie Series
September 5, 12, and 19, 2014 - 7:30 p.m. (ending times vary) 
Welcome Menlo Park's newest community event for all ages. The 2014 Menlo Movie Series will feature movies in Downtown Menlo Park on the first three Fridays in September. Be sure to bring a chair, blanket, and some snacks to enjoy, but most of all, don't forget to bring the family. Enjoy a night watching the starts, under the stars. Music in the Park 
Tuesday, August 12, 2014 - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  
Send off the summer in style! Bring a picnic basket, blanket or comfortable chair to Kelly Park (located behind Onetta Harris Community Center) and enjoy on-site food trucks and an evening of great music. Please contact Bridget Matheson for more information.

Saturday, October 25, 2014 - 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The annual Halloween Hoopla: Parade and Trick-or-Treat is held the Saturday before Halloween. Come in costume and participate in the annual parade to Fremont Park. Participants will receive a trick or treat bag. A performer will be at the park to entertain parade participants. There will also be art and craft activities, a candy guess, and a pumpkin weight guess. After the parade, trick or treat through Downtown Menlo Park at participating stores. Activities are co-sponsored by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. Event Survey

Halloween Spooky Carnival
Wednesday, October 29, 2014 - 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
Get ready for a spooky fun filled time at the Onetta Harris Community Center for the Halloween Spooky Carnival! Enjoy fun and exciting games to play, yummy snacks, a costume contest, candy guess and more! Don’t forget to wear your costume. Please contact Bridget Matheson for more information.

Saturday, December 6, 2014 - 7:30 am to 11 am
Join us the first Saturday in December for Breakfast with Santa. A delicious pancake breakfast is served at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center. Don't forget to bring your camera so you can get a great photo of your child with Santa. Activities are co-sponsored by the Menlo Park Rotary Club.

Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center
The City of Menlo Park offers an array of affordable community programs at the M-A PAC. Past programs have included: Movie Sing-alongs, Holiday Showcases, Author Lectures, Kids Musical Groups, etc. Please help us by taking our PAC Survey.
