Important Dates

October 5, 2015
Vote by Mail ballot mailing date. Menlo Park residents should receive their ballots in the mail the week of October 5. If you do not receive your ballot, you may contact the San Mateo County Elections Office directly at 650-312-5222.

October 19, 2015
Voter Registration closes at midnight. Postmark you voter registration card by October 19 or register online at registertovote.ca.gov.

Election Day, November 3, 2015
Return your ballot by 8:00 p.m. Ballots postmarked on or before November 3 will be on time if received by November 6. Or vote in person between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. at a Universal Polling Location.

New for November 2015

Assembly Bill 2028 (authored by Kevin Mullin, 22nd AD) was signed into law in 2014, allowing San Mateo County to conduct up to three local elections by All-Mailed Ballot before 2018. Under California’s Vote by Mail pilot project, state and federal elections, such as the Presidential Elections in 2016, are not eligible.

What does this mean?

All registered voters will receive a paper ballot in the mail with a postage paid return envelope. Completed ballots may be mailed at no cost, or, dropped off at Menlo Park City Hall in the black ballot box available during normal business hours beginning 28 days prior to Election Day, or, may be dropped off at any Universal Polling Location on Election Day, or, voters may still vote in person at any Universal Polling Location on Election Day if they choose.

The Juniper Room of the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center is designated as a Universal Polling Location on Election Day.

Vote by Mail

You will be mailed a Vote by Mail ballot with a postage paid return envelope.

Drop off your Ballot
For Menlo Park residents, the black ballot box is located on the 2nd floor of the City Hall / Administration Building at 701 Laurel St. Ballots may be dropped off during normal business hours now through Election Day.

Vote in Person
Cast your vote in person on Election Day at any of 32 Universal Polling Locations throughout San Mateo County. The Juniper Room at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center will be a Universal Polling Location on Election Day. Early in-person voting may also be conducted at the County Elections Office at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo.
